In an effort to insure that Elsing Green remains a working 18th century plantation never to be subjected to development the Lafferty Foundation was created, and incorporated on August 6, 1982. Elsing Green is now owned by the Lafferty Foundation after being passed to the Foundation upon Mr. Lafferty’s death. The Foundation will continue the family pursuits, the operation of the farm as a working plantation and to maintain and preserve the grounds and various houses of Elsing Green as an historic and cultural landmark. Elsing Green is not for masses of people , but rather “a quiet and beautiful place, a wonderful gift from our forefathers to be enjoyed by quiet and thoughtful people seeking a change from life as it is today”.. To people in pursuit of such a place Elsing Green is always available. The main house is open to the public on Sunday afternoons from May 1 to October 31 during the hours of 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M..
